Bonnie I (Rowe) Urich

Bonnie (Rowe) Urich of Carlisle, age 89, died on December 2, 2021.  Born at home on June 27, 1932 to the late John and Cisna (Swisher) Rowe of Loysville, Bonnie was a devoted mother, grandmother and sister.  She is survived by four children:  Mary (Glenn) McNaughton of Millerstown, John (Kathy) Nickel of New Bloomfield, Connie (Daniel) Shields of Carlisle, and Tracy (Harold) Cassell of Newville; eleven grandchildren:  Toni (Edward) Lukoski of Newport, Brad McNaughton of New Bloomfield, John (Elizabeth) Nickel and Jessica (Eric) Reynolds, both of TX, Roy Shopp, MaryAnn Dyarman, Jeff Shopp, Cassandra Shields and Angie Shields, both of Carlisle, Derreck (Megan) Cassell and Cory (Kate) Cassell, both of Newville; twenty-seven great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren, and her brother, Harold Rowe of Landisburg.  In addition to her parents, Bonnie is preceded in death by four siblings:  Russell Rowe, Dorothy Smith, Margaret Horner, and Helen Rowe.

Bonnie was a single mom who ran a household and raised a family.  She was a member of the Salvation Army, Green Grove Sunday School and New Hope Church of God.  Her absolute passion was spoiling the grandchildren!  She loved to garden and can the produce that she grew.  She baked bread and fried potatoes like no one else.  She enjoyed going to carnivals and listening to country and gospel music.

Funeral services for Bonnie will be held in the newly renovated chapel of Nickel Lochstampfor Family Funeral Home on Thursday, December 9.  A public viewing will be held from 10 AM to 12 noon.  The funeral service will follow the viewing at 12 PM, with Rev. Ralph Fisher officiating.  Interment will follow the funeral service in Centre Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
