Bonnie P. (Kepner) McMillen, age 79 of Mechanicsburg, and formerly of Perry County died peacefully at home surrounded by her family on May 23, 2025. Known to some as “Mama Bear”, Bonnie was born on April 23, 1946, in Lewistown to the late John A.L. and Margaret V. (Garman) Kepner. She is survived by three daughters: Bonnie S. Irwin, Tammy L. McMillen, and Jill L. Matthews, all of Mechanicsburg; three grandchildren: Elizabeth A. McNew, Amber M. Potter of Mechanicsburg and Chelsea L. Matthews of Loysville; and three great grandchildren: Austin, Jaxon, and Rex. In addition to her parents, Bonnie is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 34 years, Henry Richard McMillen, who died in 1998; son, Richard L. McMillen; grandchild, Brandy L. Nesbit; and sister, Doris Ritzman.
Bonnie worked as a dietician at Premier of Perry Village, where she retired in 2011 after 47 years of service. In her rare free time, Bonnie loved volleyball and played in many leagues and tournaments. Volleyball was her passion for many years! She loved gardening flowers. She was a wonderful, caring Mother and a beautiful friend to all her daughters. She will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of meeting her.
Services are being held privately and at the convenience of the family.
Arrangements entrusted to Nickel Lochstampfor Family Funeral Home, Inc., located in Loysville, PA.
