Bonnie Kay (Rodgers) Kretzing, age 66 of Elliottsburg, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on January 2, 2026. She bravely fought a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Harrisburg on May 5, 1959, to the late Earl L. and Shirley L. (Swails) Rodgers, Bonnie is survived by her son, Shaun Kretzing of Elliottsburg; granddaughter, Shauna Kretzing (James) of Mechanicsburg, one great granddaughter; and two brothers: Carl Rodgers (Renie) of Shermans Dale and Robert Rodgers (Bonita) of Loysville. Bonnie was a devoted mother and grandmother. She always put family first and was generous, giving and loving.
Bonnie graduated with the 1977 Class of West Perry High School. She worked as a laborer with large companies such as Leer and C.H. Masland – both of Carlisle, and Cabinet Works in Lewistown. She retired from Leer in 2008 after over 30 years of service. In her rare free time, Bonnie enjoyed gardening both flowers and vegetables, canning the homegrown vegetables, and hiking in the mountains. She was a die-hard Penn State sports fan.
Funeral services for Bonnie will be private and held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, Bonnie requested memorial donations be sent online to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital https://www.stjude.org/donate/donate-to-st-jude.html
Arrangements entrusted to Nickel Lochstampfor Family Funeral Home, Inc.
