Obituary

Bonnie L. (Kling) Blumenschein, 64, Loysville, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 6, 2020 at her home.

Born June 25, 1955 in Carlisle, she was the daughter of the late Ray Lynn Kling, Sr. and Carol Flickenger Kling, and was also preceded in death by her brother: R. Lynn Kling, Jr. and her sister: Donna (Kling) Mummert.

A 1974 graduate of West Perry High School, Bonnie returned to the school district as an employee and retired as the Head Cashier in the cafeteria after 20 years.

In 2015, her beloved husband, Roger L. Blumenschein passed away after 37 years of marriage. Before she was married, Bonnie worked on her family’s dairy farm. She truly loved all animals and found great comfort in their care, especially with her chickens. She was a dedicated mother and grandmother and faithfully attended all school activities with her girls and her grandchildren, and following the death of her husband, found joy in babysitting for her grandchildren and crafting with her daughter.

A woman of great faith, she was a 25+ year member of the Church of the Living Christ, Loysville, where she was a former Sunday School teacher.

Surviving are her daughters: Alicia M. Beiler (and her husband, Steve), Loysville and Joy N. Garland (and her husband, Chris), Belleville; 3 sisters: Carol O’Toole (and her husband, Frank), Loysville, Mary Jo Owen (and her husband, Barry), New Bloomfield and Sally Sweigart (and her husband, John), Womelsdorf; 6 grandchildren: Gabriel Garland, Gideon Garland, Carson Beiler, Faith Garland, Hannah Beiler, and Timothy Beiler; her mother-in-law: Gloria Blumenschein, Elliottsburg; and many nieces and nephews.

Services will be held 11:30 AM on Friday, March 13, 2020 in her church, 2401 Fort Robinson Rd, Loysville, with Pastor Doran Wray officiating. Friends will be received at the church Friday from 10:30 am until the time of services. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
