Bobby K. Cless, 94 years young of Shermans Dale, died peacefully surrounded by his loving family on July 13, 2025. Born at home on January 10, 1931 to the late John C. and Wilma O. (Sheaffer) Cless of Elliottsburg, Bobby is survived by his brother, Karl L. Cless (Debbie) of New Bloomfield and several nieces and nephews and their families. In addition to his parents, Bobby is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 60 years, Betty L. (Keeseman) Cless, who died in 2015; and a brother, John C. Cless, Jr.
After graduating from high school, Bobby worked for two years on the Pennsylvania Railroad and then was drafted into the United States Army, where he proudly served his country in Korea from 1952 to 1954 as an Engineer. While serving, he earned the Korean Service Medal with 2 bronze service stars, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, and the Good Conduct Medal. Upon his return to civilian life, Bobby worked at Frog Switch and Manufacturing Company as a Maintenance Mechanic, from where he retired with over 30 years of service.
Bobby, along with his wife, Betty, was a founding member of Bible Baptist Church in New Bloomfield. He served as a deacon, treasurer and worked with Vacation Bible School. He was also a member of Shermans Dale Fire and Ambulance Companies.
Funeral services for Bobby will naturally be held at Bible Baptist Church, 1757 New Bloomfield Road, New Bloomfield on Thursday, July 17, 2025. The funeral service will begin at 11 AM, with Pastor Perry Kile officiating, and there will be an hour of visitation prior to the service (10 – 11 AM). Interment will follow the funeral service at Young’s Church Cemetery in Shermans Dale. In lieu of flowers, Bobby requested memorial donations be directed to Bible Baptist Church, 1757 New Bloomfield Road, New Bloomfield, PA 17068.
