Betty R. (Hostetter) Pronchick

Betty R. (Hostetter) Pronchick, 83 of Blain, passed away on January 4, 2025. She was born at home on April 25, 1941, to the late William M. and Grace I. (Hockenberry) Hostetter of New Germantown.  Betty was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister. She is survived by her daughter, Janice Barrick (Robbie) of Gardners; grandchildren:  Michael Barrick (Jenny) of Asper and Michelle Barrick of Gardners; and two great-grandsons:  Parker and Logan.  She is also survived by her sister-in-law Nancy Hostetter, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.  In addition to her parents, Betty is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 47 years, Andrew Pronchick; and two siblings:  William E. Hostetter and Madeline “Sis” Brown.

Betty devoted much of her life to her family. She worked as a school crossing guard in Philadelphia and held several positions in Perry County. Betty was also a board member of Heritage Days and an active member of the New Germantown United Methodist Church. She loved cooking, baking, and ensuring everyone had plenty to eat, with family gatherings always filled with love and laughter.

Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to the Children's Miracle Network at Penn State Health Children's Hospital in Hershey.  Checks can be made payable to Children’s Miracle Network, and mailed to Children’s Miracle Network, P.O.
