Betty Miller Obituary

It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of Betty Jane Anthony Miller, a woman who was loved dearly and devoted her life to her husband, children and grandchildren. On June 11, 2020 she transitioned to Heaven while sleeping peacefully at her home in Blain, PA.

She was born in Duncannon on January 13, 1934 to the late George W Anthony and late Mary Rachel (Baughman) Anthony. Betty was married on March 25, 1951 to the late Martin Luther Miller Sr.. Betty lived a full life as a wonderful mother and homemaker. She enjoyed canning and making her homemade jellies. Her ministry was in the church nursery caring for the babies at the Church of the Living Christ of Loysville. Betty was a farmer’s wife and loved to cook, bake and entertain for all of those she loved. Famous for her homemade bread and sticky buns, nobody left her home hungry.

Betty is survived by six of her seven children; Linda A. Shutt (Dennis), Peggy M. Miller, Mary M. Morrison (Kenneth), Martha M Wardecker (Millard), Donna Jean Kint (Roger), and Andrew G. Miller. She also leaves behind 10 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. There are also three siblings who will miss her very much; Anna Pecht, Carl Anthony, and Winifred Anthony.

Preceding her in death are her parents and her loving husband along with her son Martin Luther Miller Jr and a granddaughter Mandi E Wardecker. Her siblings that preceded her in death were Raymond Anthony, Leon Anthony, Robert Anthony, and Donald Anthony.

A viewing for Betty will be held on Monday, June 15, 2020 from 1-2 PM at the Church of the Living Christ of Loysville. A funeral service will begin at 2 PM with her Pastor Doran Wray officiating. The interment will follow at Blain Cemetery.
