Bernadine E. (Sturm) Williams, age 95 of Landisburg, entered into her eternal rest on Sunday, December 19, 2021. Known as “Bernie” by most, and “Aunt Honey” by her family, she was born November 27, 1926 to the late Charles and Myrtle (Bechtel) Sturm of Elizabethville, PA. Bernie was a phenomenal wife, mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 57 years, Arlie Harold Williams. She is survived by two children: Keith (Kathryn) Williams of Landisburg and Diane (Joe) Losenicky of Garrison, IA; ten grandchildren: Douglas, Brian, Christopher, Matthew, Cory, Travis, Jacob, Brook, Jared, and Caitlin; eleven great grandchildren: Derek, Jaqueline, Kyle, Brian James, Tyler, Shaw, Brynn, Brandon, Noah, Skylar and Sylas; and two great great grandchildren: Emilia and Kiarah. In addition to her parents and husband, Bernie is also preceded in death by two sons: James Harold Williams and Gary Wayne Williams; one grandson, Brian; and four siblings: Charles Sturm, Janet O’Neil, Ardella Knapp, and Carl Sturm.
Bernie retired in 1989 as the Bookkeeper for the family business – Arlie H Williams Painting. Earlier in her adult career, she also worked in the shoe factory and at the Navy Depot in Mechanicsburg. She was a faithful member of the Shermans Dale Seventh Day Adventist Church. Her faith, family, and friends were her passions! She loyally cheered for both the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Philadelphia Eagles. She loved playing board games and working in her yard. This feisty woman cheerfully accepted the challenge to tame feral cats (whether they wanted it or not), and her family describes her “as having an iron will and a strong constitution”.
Funeral services for Bernie will be held on Wednesday, December 29 in the newly renovated chapel of Nickel Lochstampfor Family Funeral Home in Loysville. A Gathering of Friends will be held from 10 to 11 AM, followed by the memorial service, officiated by Pastor Paul Wasmer. Family will attend the interment at Restland Cemetery.
Funeral arrangements entrusted to Nickel Lochstampfor Family Funeral Home, Inc. of Loysville.
