Audie W. Jordan, Sr., 70, of Shermans Dale, passed away unexpectedly on May 5, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of memories for those who knew and loved him.
Born in Danville on November 22, 1955, he was the son of the late William A. and Abby (Laubaugh) Jordan. Audie was a proud graduate of Mechanicsburg High School, Class of 1973, and went on to build not only a career, but a legacy. As an iron worker, he spent years shaping steel into the framework of buildings and bridges—work that reflected his own strength, skill, and determination. He later founded Taryn Company, Inc., a business he poured himself into until his retirement in 2013.
While Audie worked hard, it was the way he loved that defined him most. He is survived by his children, Audie Jordan, Jr. of New Bloomfield and Brooke Jordan; his granddaughter, Skyler Jordan (Wade Sheaffer) of Ickesburg; and his great-grandchildren, Emmett and Walker, who brought him immeasurable joy. He is also survived by his siblings, William Jordan of Alexandria, VA, and Diane Durbec of New Bloomfield.
Audie had a presence that filled a room—quick with a joke, generous with his time, and known for a laugh that could lift anyone’s spirits. He found his greatest happiness in the company of family, whether in quiet moments or lively gatherings. Those who knew him will remember not just what he did, but how he made them feel: welcomed, valued, and loved.
His life was built on hard work, loyalty, and a deep devotion to those closest to him. Though he is gone far too soon, the stories, laughter, and love he leaves behind will continue to carry his spirit and family forward.
Funeral services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
Arrangements are entrusted to Nickel Lochstampfor Family Funeral Home, Inc.
