Anna M. (Baughman) Bird, 85 of New Bloomfield, passed away at home on March 9, 2025, with her loving husband by her side. Born at home on April 27, 1939, to the late Brady T. and Mary E. (Smith) Baughman of Green Park, Anna is survived by her devoted husband of 66 years, Richard W. Bird; four sons: Richard Bird (Rena) of CA, Thomas Bird (Cathy) of Oregon City, OR, Terry Bird (Sunny) of Bend, OR, and John Bird of North Beach, MD; granddaughter, Sabrina Harmon (Josh) of Hayward, CA; and two siblings: Mary Jane Kitner and Dale Baughman (Donna) – both of New Bloomfield. In addition to her parents, Anna is preceded in death by her five siblings: Sam Baughman, Donald Wayne Baughman, Ray Baughman, George Baughman, and Ruby Baughman.
Anna graduated from Green Park in 1957 and continued her education at Carlisle Hospital, where she earned her credentials as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Throughout her nursing career, she worked in hospitals in Oregon and for doctors in Oregon and Washington, DC. She retired from Dr. Aleskow’s practice in 1993, after many years of service. In addition to running a household and raising a family (of four boys!), Anna was a member of New Bloomfield United Methodist Church, Coachman Owners Association, Good Sam, and Golden Eagles camping club.
Funeral services for Anna will be private and at the convenience of the family.
