Sara Matilda (Jacobs) Armstrong
Sara, age 95, died peacefully on December 15, 2019 at the Church of God Home in Carlisle, PA.  She was born April 9 1924 in Spring Township, Perry County, PA to William J. Jacobs and Margaret M. (Bolze) Jacobs.  

Sara graduated from Landisburg High School and Carlisle Business College.  She was a long service employee of the Perry County Agricultural Extension Office in New Bloomfield and a lifelong member of the St. Peter’s United Church of Christ and Landisburg Charge.  She shared her love with her family, always enjoying planning meals and cooking for many family meals, baking bread and cookies and making homemade doughnuts with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Sara had a deep connection to her life-long home and farm. She enjoyed caring for many cats through the years, gardening, shopping trips to Carlisle, and reading. 

Surviving are a son, four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.  Sara will be greatly missed by her son Thomas (Barbara), grandchildren Timothy and Elizabeth (Saul) and great grandchildren Ilyas and Leena, by grandson Robert and great grandchildren Lauren and Ben, by grandson Ian (Lauren) and great grandchildren Alex, Nathan, and Ian and by daughter-in-law Gloria McPherson. She was predeceased by husband John C. Armstrong (1920-1981), son Kenneth (1947-1979), her parents and sister Peggy.

The internment at St. Peter’s Cemetery will be private.

 A memorial service will be at 3:30 PM on January 11 at the New Hope United Church of Christ, 108 Carlisle Street, Landisburg, PA. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Perry County Food Bank, P.O.
