Roy Wendel Smith age 93, of Stoney Point, Loysville for over 93 years, died on Friday, April 13, 2018 at the Carlisle Hospital, Carlisle, Pennsylvania.
Born March, 23, 1925 at Stoney Point, Loysville he was the son of the late Pauline (Johnson) and Harry Smith, Sr.
He graduated from Blain Union School.
On February 24, 1945 he married his late wife Ruby M.(Weibley) Smith.
He retired from the Loysville Youth Development Center in Loysville, as the supervisor of security.
In addition he owned and operated the Wenco Feed Company in Newport, Pennsylvania, life time farmer and carpenter.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and was an avid gun collector. He traveled in 49 states.
He was a member of the New Germantown United Methodist Church, Blain Sportsman Club, NRA, NWTF, Blain Fire and Ambulance Companies.
He is survived by two daughters Virginia A. Frazer of Loysville, Jane E. Dobbs of Ickesburg, a son Rex W. Smith, Shiremanstown, PA, a sister Fern V. Freeman and her husband Wayne, sister-in-law Dolly Smith, four grandchildren Heather Smith of Seattle, WA, Jayme Dobbs Casner of Loysville, Robert Smith of Mechanicsburg, PA and Amy Frazer Kell of Ickesburg, PA, and 2 great granddaughters Tarryn and Katelyn Casner, many beloved nieces and nephews.. He is preceded in death by two brothers Harry Smith, Jr. and Paul Smith, Sister Ruth Peterson.
Family will receive friends on Thursday, April 19, 2018 from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M. at the Nickel-Lochstampfor Family Funeral Home, Inc., 3626 Shermans Valley Road, Loysville, PA and again one hour prior to services which will be held in the funeral home on Friday, April 20, 2018 at 11 A.M. Rev. Jean Felty officiating. Interment in Blain Cemetery.
