Nora C King passed away peacefully on December 15 at Misericordia Nursing Home in York, PA. after a long illness.

She was born on 7/17/22 in Fredrick, MD to Margaret (Simmons) Walters Allocco and Earl Walters.

She was married to the late Donald J. King and was a resident of Waynesboro, PA her entire adult life until her declining health required that she be entrusted to the excellent care of the Sisters at Misericordia.

She was predeceased by brothers George William Walters and Robert Walters, sister Margaret Stanley, and sister in law Joann Baker. She is survived by her son Donald (Wayne) King and his wife Dorothy Hansen of York, sister Grace Burch of South Port NC, and fourteen nieces, nephews, and their families.

Nora worked at the Waynesboro Knitting Mill until its closure. She was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Waynesboro. She was also a member of the former Red Hats, The Elks Club, American Legion Auxiliary, Women of the Moose, and the Delta Y Gradale with which she held sever official positions.

Nora was a tireless worker both occupationally and domestically from her teens and throughout her entire life. Having learned from her mother in law, she was known for baking the best apple and cherry pies, coconut cakes, and raisin cookies the food world has even seen. She personified being “one of a kind” and will be sorely missed by all who knew her.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 20, 2018 from 10 A.M.  followed by a funeral services at 11 A.M. in the Lochstampfor Funeral Home Inc. corners of W. Second Streets and S. Church Street, , Waynesboro. PA.  with Rev. Dennis Beaver officiating.  Interment will follow in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro, PA. 

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate contributions in her name to Misericordia Nursing and Rehab Center, 998 S. Russell St., York PA 17402 or Hearthstone Retirement Home, 100 South Potomac St., Waynesboro, PA 17268
