Neil Fritz Obituary

Mr. Neil S. Fritz, 87, of Ickesburg, fondly known to some as Son or Snickle, died late in the evening, Sunday, March 3, 2019, at his residence.  He was the husband of Mrs. Betty C. Burdge Fritz, his wife of 62 years.

Born August 31, 1931, in Ickesburg, he was a son of late Arthur Leland and Anna Elizabeth Sommer Fritz.  He was a graduate of Ickesburg High School; and was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force, serving during the Korean War.

He had worked with the Youth Development Center, Loysville.

Mr. Fritz was a member of Sandy Hill United Church of Christ, Loysville.  Additionally, he was a member of the American Legion.

Surviving, besides his wife, are his children, John Fritz and fiancé Deb of Oberlin, Shirley Rice and husband Bill of Loysville, Gary Fritz and wife Sandy Ickesburg, Tammy Neely and husband of Dave of Newport, Lisa Reisinger and husband Randy, and Karl Fritz and wife Linda, both of Ickesburg; and ten grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild; as well as his sister, Patty Sheriff and husband Donald of New Cumberland, West Virginia; and sister-in-law, Alice Fritz of Harrisburg.

Arrangements are entrusted to the Nickel-Lochstampfor Family Funeral Home Inc. There will not be visiting at the funeral home.  A memorial service will be held at his church, Sandy Hill United Church of Christ, Loysville, on Saturday, March 16, 2:00 PM, with his pastor, Rev. Michael D. Boehm, officiating.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Fritz’s name to his church, Sandy Hill United Church of Christ 6300, Tuscarora Path, Loysville, Pennsylvania  17047
