Nancy Lee (Gladhill) Gadson

Nancy Lee (Gladhill) Gadson, 70, of Waynesboro died peacefully in her home Sunday morning.  She had been in poor health for several years, and seriously ill the last few months.

Nancy was born November 1, 1947, to Paul and Eva Mae (Lewis) Gladhill in Fairfield, Pennsylvania.  She graduated from Fairfield High School in 1965.

She married Ray Gadson at Jacobs United Church of Christ in Fairfield, Pennsylvania, on March 27, 1966.  He preceded her in death April 20, 2015.  Their marriage was blessed with two daughters.  They moved to Indiana in 1971, and Nancy worked with her husband in their family business from 1978 until they retired in 2006. They moved back to Pennsylvania in 2010, where she could spend time with her family and the mountains she had missed so much.

She attended Wayne Heights Brethren Church and Rouzerville United Methodist Church.

Nancy is survived by her daughters, Tammy Kernyo and her husband, Ken, of Carleton, Michigan, and Julie Persons of Waynesboro.  She was incredibly proud of her grandchildren:  Melodie (Zach) Barnette of Richmond, Virginia; Ryan Kernyo (Brea Walle) and Kyle Kernyo (Summer Jackson), of Carleton, Michigan, and Brock Persons, Waynesboro.  She is also survived by her siblings:  Ethel (George) Tallent of South Carolina; Paul "Sonny" (Lorraine) Gladhill, Waynesboro;  Kate Borne, Blue Ridge Summit,  Barb (Ernie) Hambly of Tennessee; Laura Toms (Steve Presley), Waynesboro; Marilyn (Charles) Eshleman, Waynesboro, and Tim (Elaine) Gladhill, Waynesboro, and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, John, and her son-in-law, Tom Persons.

In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place under the supervision of Lochstampfor Funeral Home, Inc.  A Celebration of Life service will be held Friday, August 31, at 11:00 a.m. at Rouzerville United Methodist Church.  Nancy supported several charities, so in lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to SpiriTrust Lutheran Home Care & Hospice (2700 Luther Dr., Chambersburg, PA 17202), the American Cancer Society ,  or a charity of the donor's choice.
