Hazel Raynes Obituary

Hazel E. (Stone) Raynes

Hazel Emma (Stone) Raynes, 80, of Loysville, joined her husband in eternal rest on Wednesday, December 18, 2019.
Born December 18, 1939, in Wellsville, PA, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Hazel Rupert Stone.  Hazel was last employed at Mutzabaugh’s Market in Duncannon where she worked in the meat room. She also worked for many years as a graphic artist at the Perry County Times and the Hummelstown Sun.  As a young woman, she was employed by the Bell Telephone Company, as well as working at the old Hershey Hospital. Over the years, she and her husband called Hershey, Hummelstown, Elliottsburg and Saville home.  She was a member of Saville BIC Church and her faith is no doubt what kept her so strong. She loved going to auctions with her husband, collecting antiques, reading novels, traveling with her family and helping others.  She was an amazing cook! Her devotion to her husband, especially through his battle with Parkinson’s Disease, stands as a testament of their true love and dedication to each other. The family feels blessed that Ken and Hazel were reunited in time for Christmas.
She is survived by a daughter, Sharon Alexander of Millerstown; two grandsons, Christopher Fry and his wife Michele of Newport and Randy Fry and his wife Lindsay; one great granddaughter, Autumn Fry; her sister, Mary; her brother, Ralph; and numerous nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Kenneth R. Raynes; a daughter, Kathy Thompson; and a sister; Dorothy Dove.

A joint memorial service for Ken and Hazel will be held on Saturday, January 25th at 11:00 AM at the Saville BIC Church, 2105 Liberty Valley Road, Ickesburg, PA 17037.
