Harry L. Melius, age 76, of Shermans Dale, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 19, 2018 with his wife by his side at the Geisinger Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill.

He was born on November 8, 1941 at Six Mile Run, Bedford County, Pennsylvania to the late John and Gaynell (Shaffer) Melius.

He loved country music, dancing and walking and being outdoors.

He retired from Ingersoll Rand after 30 years of service.

He was a member of the Minneque Social Club, Shippensburg;  Loyal Order of the Moose, Carlisle; Fraternal Order of Eagles, Carlisle and the Verhovay Home Association Club, Harrisburg, PA.

He is survived by his wife Barbara (Weibley) Melius; daughter Denise Pierce and her husband Terry; son Larry Melius and his wife Bonnie; daughter Marcie Chapline and her husband Jeff; son-in-law Patrick Reid; step daughter Cindy (Thebes) McEnery husband Rich; step-sons Scott and Bryan Thebes; grandchildren Amanda and Audrey Pierce; Heaven Carson and husband Shawn; Fawn and Seth Reid; Cory and Chad Conklin; step-grandchildren Taylor Beitler and husband Grant; Stefanie, Mikeala, Blake, Sydney and Riley Thebes; foster grandson John Rhinehart; great-grandchildren Emmett Lightner; Carter and Emily Carson.  Brothers Jack, Dick, Mike and Ed Melius, sisters Donna Manges, Gladys Long, Dottie Long, Susan White and husband Richard and Marlene McCabe.  In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a daughter, Angie Reid and seven brothers and two sisters.

The family will receive friends at 10 A.M.  on June 2, 2018 at the Perry Mennonite Reception Center, 350 Green Park Road, Elliottsburg, PA with a memorial service to follow at 11 A.M. with Pastor Tim Redmen officiating.  Interment will be private at Restland Cemetery, Loysville.
