LOYSVILLE, PENNSYLVANIA
Carl R. Robinson, 78, loving husband, father, pappy, and brother, died peacefully Saturday, March 24, 2018, at home in Loysville.
He was born April 11, 1939, at home in Couchtown to the late Harry and Irma (Furler) Robinson.
After graduating from Green Park Union High School in 1956, he trained as a machinist at Allied Institute of Technology (Chicago). He worked at Capital Products and Robinson's store before opening his own business in 1965, building houses and hauling steel. In 1975, he started Robinson Lumber Co, where he designed and built the saws that he used in his business. In spite of his age, he continued operating his business until November 2017 when overcome by illness. He also served Tyrone Township for over 20 years, with 19 years as Supervisor. He was skilled at scroll saw woodworking and enjoyed making gifts for his family and friends. He also enjoyed antique/classic cars, going on road trips and watching the Phillies.
Surviving are his wife, Lois (Soine) Robinson; a son, Warren Robinson and his wife, Sue, of Newburg; a daughter, Cindy Grant of West Chester; a step-daughter, Julie (McQueen) Backes of Lancaster; a step-son, Eric McQueen and his wife, Shelli, of Palm Bay, FL; 5 grandchildren, 5 step-grandchildren, 1 great-granddaughter, 1 step-great-grandson; a brother, Dean Robinson and his wife, Ellen, of Loysville; and 2 nieces.
Visitation will be at 6:00 - 8:00 pm on Thursday, March 29th, 2018 and at 1:00 pm on Friday, March 30th prior to the 2:00 pm funeral service at Nickel-Lochstampfor Family Funeral Home, Loysville. Burial will be in the Blain Cemetery.
